How to do Battle to Free Churches for Revival and the Harvest By Esther Dummer - February 13, 2001

It is time to allow the Holy Spirit to come out of the back closets of the church and to enter into the altars and sanctuary of our churches to have His sovereign way in everything and everyone’s lives.

There is a church that will rise up to it’s calling and move powerfully into the Third Day.  It will move with great Authority and power for the tearing down and the building up.  It will literally shake hell’s gates and see souls freed from many bondages and sins. 

All churches have this potential, but not all will rise to this challenge and choose to settle for the old model of church life.  For those that will hear the call of Spirit in this day and time that we live, those we will stand on the walls of intercession and warfare for.  They will greatly benefit from this type of intercession.

Let the Holy Spirit show you which ones to intercede for specifically.  They may just have a pastor who wants revival and a church who resists or they may be a church which want revival and the pastor resists.  These are churches which need great prayer because of the hunger and prayer of those who already cry for revival and souls.  Many lone leaders or other prayer warriors have stood in these hard places for a long time and these we will come along side of and come into agreement with them for revival.

There are others that have “a form of godliness but denying the power thereof” and desire it to remain as is.  God may or may not desire us to target these specifically, depending upon how long His Holy Spirit has been dealing with them, how much resisting they have done and whether or not God has lifted His Spirit off of them and moved on.  There are many churches that God cannot get His own foot in the door and those we will not push into.  Those we simply cry out to God to have mercy upon them and do vicarious repentance. God, perchance may change His mind, so we do ask for Him to move once more upon them. 

The Holy Spirit will move us by Divine Direction to the targets that He personally is targeting.  Those we will come along side and draw our swords, level our cannons, and stand upon the wall of intercession over, for God has a plan at work on their behalf. 

Don’t  misunderstand the things I say as a lack of desire to pray for other churches.  We do pray for churches everywhere, all denominations, locally, statewide and national as well as worldwide, and expect God to take our intercession and apply it to the right place as we cry out for revival in churches.  What I have been discussing  is the type of intercession that is targeted towards a mark, specifically.  All of these issues though can be prayed in general over the church universal.

God is gracious, loving and full of compassion and who knows but what our prayers haven’t moved walls we have never seen and freed prisoners we have never met who sit upon the churches pews all over and behind the pastor’s closed office door? 

Below is a list of the things that hinder the church, hold it in bondage and keep it from moving forward.  To effectively pray for a church to be free one must first bind the strongman over that church so that you can spoil the house of the enemy and have God’s house rise up to it’s full potential and calling.

This is a warfare that may need to be done over a period of time along with deep intercession for God’s spirit to be released to work in the heart’s and lives of the leaders and congregation of believers.

Specific Things and Spirits to Bind:

1. Rebellion/Insurrection

2. Disunity and Division

3. Undermining of the Godly foundation

4. Misplaced Destiny and Purpose

5. Stubbornness

6. Intimidation

7. Small-minded thinking

8. Lack of Vision

9. Lack of Love

10. Hypocrisy

11. Backbiting, Slander and Gossip

12. Achan Sins (things that are hidden)

13. Lack of Burden for the Lost

14. A Veil of Darkness/Hiddeness by the Enemy

15. The Spirit of Antichrist that stifles the Gifts

16. Seducing Spirit – Doctrinal Error

17. Spirit of Whoredoms – Other gods, materialism

18. Jezebel – Manipulation, Control, Stifling of the Prophetic

19. Control of Church Boards

20. Greed

21. Humanism

22. Adoption of Worldly Models and Philosophies

23. Nicolatian Spirit – Not releasing the Body of Christ

24. Dismantling and Disconnection of Continuity and Flow of Body

We must also Bless the Church.  Listed below are things to release by the spoken word of blessing and prayer of intercession over the church, to speak life and purpose into it.

1. Spirit of Truth

2. Trust

3. Love

4. Revelation

5. God’s Model of His House

6. Unity in the Leadership, Boards, and the Congregation

7. A Submissive Spirit

8. An Obedient Spirit

9. Evangelism

10. A Burden for the Lost – God’s Heart

11. For Dividing Walls to be torn down

12. For it to be a House of Worship

13. For a War Cry to Arise

14. Liberty

15. A God-given Vision

16. To be Purpose Driven

17. For a Prophetic Release

18. People to be released in Ministry

19. The Spirit of Giving with the First Fruit Model

20. To become visible to the Community for the Godly Church that it is

21. The Father’s Love

22. For it to be a House of Prayer for all Nations

23. An Apostolic Anointing for the Breaking of New Ground

24. Discipleship, Biblical fashion

25. God-Ordained structure and flow

26. A Solid Foundation on Jesus

27. A Powerful Release of the Holy Spirit

28. Gifts of the Spirit to flow

29. The Fruit of the Spirit to fully Manifest

30. For the Five-Fold Ministry to develop within the Church Body to be fully equipped

31. A True Mission/Evangelism Mind to Send forth Laborers

32. For a Purifying Fire to Ignite a Holy Righteous Revolution

33. For it to become a Hell-Shaking, Gate-Crashing Church, One that is known in Hell

34. For a Harvesting Anointing

35. Open Heavens
