POWER POINT

“Why don’t YOU roll a Stone on the Devil’s Tomb?”

Written by: Esther Dummer – April 19, 2003 / Posted – March 26, 2005

  1. There will always be "guards" at the tomb

    • They will always lie to cover the fact that Jesus is alive...
    • They want you to believe that someone stole His body, that there is no resurrection power for you in the dead areas of your life.

  1. Tombs are for the dead.

    • Tombs are surrounded by fear and doubt.
    • Tombs are surrounded by failure and pain.
    • Tombs are surrounded by hopelessness.
    • Tombs are surrounded by mockers.
    • Tombs are surrounded by defeat.

  1. People live in tombs of fear, doubt and unbelief, sickness and disease...etc...

    • These are Stones that block the entrance to our freedom.
    • These are placed and sealed by the devil in an attempt to keep us in the land of the dead.

  1. Lies are the chains that keep the dead bound.

·        “You will never be able to change.”

·        “You are a loser.”

·        “You are defeated, so just give up.”

·        “God can’t forgive what you’ve done.”

You have to determine to buck the devil’s system of lies and forge on ahead to your freedom.

Matt 28:2-4

2          And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

3          His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:

4          And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.

·        The guards are no match for the heaven’s lightning.

·        When the voice of God speaks, stones roll!

·        There is a spiritual earthquake that has the power to open any tomb.

·        The resurrection power of Jesus Christ could not be contained.

·        If you get hold of the power source, your tomb will open up and release you.

·        The conquering power of Jesus can overcome all of the guards that are holding you back from life.

John 10:10

10        The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

  1. The good news is that Jesus overcame the Tomb.

·        He offers the same power of resurrection life to “whosoever will.”

·        He cries out to you in your situation – “Come Forth!”

Rom 8:11

11   But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwells in you.

  1. The flesh /carnal mortal bodies, soul, mind and spirit, of ours is called to come alive in the midst of the tombs and dying places of our life.

·        The Living flees the tombs.

·        You have to make a decision to get up and get out.

·        Jesus called, but Lazarus had to step out into the light of day.

·        Mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically, we have to step out at the sound of Jesus voice!

  1. Jesus told His disciples to roll the stone away!

John 11:38-39

38   Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.

39   Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinks: for he hath been dead four days.

·        Some things in life stink, things that we may try to hide behind a “stone” of our own making, walling ourselves off from others.

·        We may even have others tell us how “rotten we are” and we may have believed them.

·        Some have accepted what others have placed on them, bound by the words and deeds of others.

·        Sometimes we have wrapped our own lives up by other opinions by believing their bad report.

·        Sometimes the things that come our way “stink,” like sickness, loss or pain.

John 11:43

43   And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.

·        Jesus longs to release all the dead places of our lives and bring forth a “sweet incense of worship” to God.

·        There is worship that is waiting to be released.

·        There are offerings of praise that are as yet untapped.

·        Lazarus had a “new testimony” after his trial, one of defeating death!

  1. Jesus told the disciples to “loose Lazarus,” meaning to unwrap the grave clothes that had been placed on him for his burial.  John 11:44

John 11: 44

44   And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave clothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, “Loose him, and let him go.”

·        This is where people who have been set free use their “grace gift of freedom” in Jesus Christ to set others free.

·        This is the Churches opportunity to minister freedom to those who have just stepped out of their tombs of “living death” by ministering hope and freedom and love in the name of Jesus Christ.

·        It took effort to wrap up a person for burial so be patient in unwrapping a person who had come to life in Jesus.

  1. The grave clothes are garments for the dead.

·        Yes there is deliverance from our grave clothes.

·        Lazarus walked out bound and was loosed from his grave clothes when he took the steps to obey Jesus voice calling him to “Come Forth.”

·        As truth penetrates your hearts, you too can unwrap from yourself the tentacles of the devil’s lies.

·        You can walk from the tomb and live.

Matt 28:1-7

1          In the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulcher.

5          And the angel answered and said unto the women,

“Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come; see the place where the Lord lay.

And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.”

If someone wants to be freed from a tomb, it is a good idea to seek the help of one who has been delivered from a tomb.  Jesus overcame hell, death and the grave and He knows the way out.

Jesus is still speaking to us by HIS WORD yet today.

“Come Forth!”

Because He lives, we can live also!

John 8:36

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
